CLARE CASTLE COUNTRY PARK

CLIENT : CLARE CASTLE COUNTRY PARK TRUST

This beautiful little country park is the only place in the country where a Victorian railway cut straight through the bailey of a medieval castle. That makes for some very interesting archaeology and a compact site packed with stories. A panel scheme is complemented by a trail around the town, an interactive nature trail and a trim trail - interpreted with stats about the exertions of railway-building navvies and medieval castle guards. Playful and distinctive interpretive benches, sculptural sheep seats and a play train make it an even more delightful place to spend a little time.
